The Turin School of Local Regulation offers a range of training activities:

WATERREG: Training and Capacity Building on economic regulation and governance of the integrated water cycle
Special School on Water Regulation for Ethiopian and Mozambican participants
Torino, 18 – 21 November 2014

   


The Special School hosted 12 participants, 8 from Ethiopia and 4 from Mozambique, and aimed at providing theoretical elements on the regulation, illustrating the main regulatory tools, transferring the basics of economic analysis underlying the regulation. In addition to this, case studies have been presented, and visits and working groups were organized. A particular attention was also paid to allow participants themselves to transfer the acquired knowledge to their colleagues and other stakeholders in their city / region and Country.
The training is part of the activities of WATERREG project on Training and Capacity Building on economic regulation and governance of the integrated water cycle, implemented in partnership with Hydroaid and funded by the Regulatory Authority for Water services of the Province of Torino.

Capacity development for improved performance of water utilities: Regulation, Efficiency and Quality
Study tour of ADKOM – Association of Public Utilities of the Republic of Macedonia
Torino, 12 – 13 June 2014

   

20 delegates from Macedonia took part to this 2-day Study tour on economic regulation of water services. The delegation was composed of representatives of ADKOM, the National Association of Public Utilities, General Managers of water utilities and officials from the Macedonian Ministry of Environment. The study tour included front classes and visits to SMAT's wastewater treatment plants (the local water utility).
The training activity is part of the project "Capacity development for improved performance of water utilities: Regulation, Efficiency and Quality", promoted by ADKOM and funded by the Danube Water Program, run by the World Bank and the International Association of Water Supply COmpnaies in the Danube Area (IAWD).
