Giorgio Brosio is Professor of Public Economics at the Department of Economics and Statistics of the University of Torino, Italy. He has been professor at the Universities of Bari, Italy, and Geneva, Switzerland. He has been the President of the Società Italiana di Economia Pubblica (Italian Public Economics Association) from 2009 to 2012 and is still member of the Board and was President of the European Public Choice Association (April 1992 - April 1993) and member of the Board until 1999.
He has worked as a consultant for international institutions (mostly the IMF, the EU, the IADB and the World Bank) on public sector reform and development, with particular emphasis on taxation, natural resources and decentralization issues.
